Our Mission

The goal of the Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship Powered by Mazda is to provide a professional, entry-level open-wheel training ground as the first official step on the Mazda Road to Indy ladder - a clearly-defined path to the IZOD IndyCar Series and Indianapolis 500.


The series trains and showcases its drivers and prepares aspiring engineers, mechanics and team owners for careers at the higher levels of the sport, while striving to maintain reasonable participant costs.

  • Mazda

    Mazda is the number-one brand for road-racers across North America. Thousands of Mazda powered grassroots racers compete in various classes with the SCCA and NASA highlighted by Spec Miata, the world’s largest spec class with over 2,500 cars built. In 2006 Mazda established the MAZDASPEED Motorsports Development Ladder to assist racers in moving up through the ranks. In 2010 this was expanded to include the Mazda Road to Indy. Key to Mazda’s success is strategic partnerships with the Skip Barber Racing School and Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.

    MAZDASPEED Motorsports is managed by Mazda North American Operations (MNAO). MNAO is headquartered in Irvine, Calif. and oversees the sales, marketing, parts and customer service support of Mazda vehicles in the United States, Canada and Mexico through nearly 900 dealers. Operations in Canada are managed by Mazda Canada, Inc., located in Ontario; and in Mexico by Mazda Motor de Mexico in Mexico City.   • Mazda Road to Indy

    The Mazda Road to Indy is INDYCAR's developmental ladder system to prepare drivers for the IZOD IndyCar Series and the Indianapolis 500. It includes the Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship Powered by Mazda, the Star Mazda Championship presented by Goodyear, and Firestone Indy Lights. All three affiliated “junior” series offer the challenge of racing on ovals, road courses and temporary street circuits, and program participants can showcase their drivers and teams in front of IZOD IndyCar Series team owners each year. All four series will also be in action in Indianapolis over the Memorial Day weekend. As part of the Mazda Road to Indy, all drivers and teams in the affiliated series can also take advantage of various promotional efforts provided by INDYCAR.

  • Allied Building Products

    Allied Building Products has been a partner of Andersen Racing since 2008, entertaining hundreds of Allied employees, customers and guests over the years. After serving as presenting sponsor for one double-header round of USF2000 competition (operated by Andersen Promotions) in 2011, Allied will expand its role to three events this season – the Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg (March 24-25), the Baltimore Grand Prix (September 1-2) and the Grand Prix of Virginia (September 14/15). Allied’s guests will serve as trophy presenters and honorary starters for all six races and will host dinners with select USF2000 drivers.

  • Elite Engines

    Since Steve Knapp formed Elite Engines in 1991 his company has won 26 SCCA national championships. In addition to preparing the engines for competition, Elite Engines is designing and fabricating many components for the engine at its 10,000-square-foot shop in Wisconsin, which is equipped with state-of-the-art Haas CNC Machining Centers.
  • SCCA Enterprises

    SCCA Enterprises Inc, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Sports Car Club of America, Inc., builds and maintains the Formula Enterprises (FE) cars in addition to the SCCA Spec Racer® and Enterprises Sports Racer cars. Beginning in 2013, SCCA Enterprises will be the presenting sponsor of the USF2000 National Class with all competitors in this category utilizing SCCA Enterprises’ FE cars.   • Carl Haas Automobile Imports

    Dynamic Suspensions has an enviable record of supplying state-of-the-art dampers including the new DSSV range to winning motorsports teams competing in series from rallying to Formula One, including the USF2000 National Championship. Its DSSV dampers provide significant performance and operational gains over conventional dampers and eliminate the use of shims commonly used in motorsports dampers. The desired damping specification is achieved by using Dynamic Suspensions' SpecFinder™ software to select interchangeable valve cartridges. Fine-tuning is achieved through on-car adjustment of both the linear indexed high- and low-speed adjusters.

    Dynamic Suspensions has two state-of-the-art seven-post shaker rigs. One is located at its headquarters in Thetford, Norfolk, England.
