USF2000 and Cooper Tires Association Extended

December 11, 2012

Key Partner and Official Tire Renews Relationship Through 2015

PALMETTO, Fla. – A vital component in the growth and success of the Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship Powered by Mazda is its partners and the series is extremely pleased to announce an extension with the Cooper Tire & Rubber Company through 2015. Cooper Tires has been the Official Tire and presenting sponsor of the INDYCAR-sanctioned Mazda Road to Indy series since 2010.

“Not only does Cooper Tires build the absolute best tires for formula cars, they provide unequaled at-track support and have been a true and loyal partner to the USF2000 Championship in countless ways,” said Dan Andersen, Owner and CEO of Andersen Promotions, the series promoter. “Chris Pantani [Director of Motorsports for Cooper Tires] and his staff are the best, and we are fortunate to have this long-term affiliation with Cooper Tires.”

Cooper Tires’ support of the series extends well beyond outfitting the entire USF2000 field with quality slick and rain tires co-branded COOPER/USF2000. The Findlay, Ohio-based manufacturer’s off-track support includes presentation of the Cooper Tires Pole Award at each venue, advertising, at-track activation and title sponsorship of the pre-season “Cooper Tires Winterfest Championship” mini-series amongst other initiatives.

“Cooper Tires is excited to be a part of USF2000,” said Pantani. “We feel it is a great way to develop young talent for the future of racing. The series has grown substantially the past few years. We are very pleased to extend our relationship and to continue to align with Mazda and the series’ other great partners. It is rewarding to watch our graduates move up the ladder to realize their dreams – proof that this formula works.”

In addition to supporting USF2000, Cooper Tires headlines the Cooper Tires Prototype Lites Championship Powered by Mazda development series, is a supplier to teams in the Formula Drift Pro Championship and is heavily involved as a partner and sponsor with Professional Bull Riders, Inc. (PBR).

The 2013 Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship Powered by Mazda season will open on March 14/15 with a pair of races in support of the 61st running of the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring Fueled by Fresh from Florida and the American Le Mans Series.

The Cooper Tires Winterfest Championship will feature a total of six races at Florida’s Sebring International Raceway (February 5/6) and Palm Beach International Raceway (February 9/10).

USF2000 will enter its fourth season of sanction by INDYCAR in 2013. Past champions include Sage Karam (2010), Petri Suvanto (2011) and Matthew Brabham (2012).
