Highly-regarded Indiana engineer part of expanded multi-car effort in USF2000 Championship

MINNEAPOLIS, MIN.  – Afterburner Autosport's quest for success in the Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship Powered by Mazda is taking another step forward in 2013, with the addition of Geoff Bushor to its engineering department. As part of an expanded multi-car effort by the Minnesota-based team, the highly-regarded race engineer from Indiana will be part of the talented race staff moving forward.

Since its inception, Afterburner Autosport has been focused on becoming a race-winning and title contending team. With that goal in mind, the two-time SCCA Formula Continental National Championship winners have continually worked at becoming better. With the start of the upcoming 2013 USF2000 Championship season just around the corner, and having already announced F2000 Championship series runner-up Wyatt Gooden and added Skip Barber Summer Series Champion Jake Eidson for the recently contested opening tripleheader of the 'off-season' Cooper Tires Winterfest series, Afterburner Autosport has further raised its game with the addition of Bushor to its engineering department.

Well aware that a key ingredient for success in motorsports, in particular within the junior formula car ranks, is having a superior prepared and tuned race car, Afterburner Autosport wanted to enhance its already strong staff. In hiring Bushor, the squad has done just. When paired with fellow standout race engineer Tim Jennings, Afterburner Autosport gives its drivers further resources to challenge for top honors in the 2013 edition of the USF2000 Championship.

Bushor joins Afterburner Autosport bringing a wealth of formula car experience to the table. Having been involved in motorsports for over a decade, he has helped drivers and teams in Indy Lights, Pro Mazda Championship (formerly Star Mazda Championship), USF2000 Championship, and SCCA Club Racing achieve their goals, on and off the track. With a eye for details, Bushor will partner with fellow race engineer Jennings under the awning, giving Afterburner a strong technical base to build success from.    

Bushor and the rest of the talented Afterburner Autosport staff will get the chance to showcase the expanded multi-car effort for 2013 when the Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship Powered by Mazda season gets underway on March 14-15, at Sebring International Raceway. The historic road course plays host to the opening doubleheader as part of the prestigious Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring event.
