Clearwater, Fla. -- Pelfrey Performance, Team Pelfrey's young driver program and corporate entertainment branch, is delighted to announce its first driver development camp. The focus will be very much on drivers competing on the karting scene and in lower level open-wheel categories, and the aim is to provide these young drivers with an insight into what it takes to compete on the Mazda Road to Indy. Funding is the biggest hurdle in the way of many drivers and as a result Pelfrey Performance wants to highlight the importance of marketing, series/team selection, budgeting, etc., in addition to the driving skills required.
Where to start, series/team selection and the importance of learning
Participants will receive time in both 4 and 2 stroke karts, courtesy of Andersen RacePark, to break up the day and enjoy some friendly competition out on track
Funding and racing go hand-in-hand, so what does the Mazda Road to Indy give YOU access to? Who do you approach? Why do you approach them? When do you approach them?
Preparation and diet are key, participants will be put through a light workout to demonstrate the importance of fitness in racing
