The ninth annual Chris Griffis Memorial Road to Indy Open Test will take place at the iconic Indianapolis Motor Speedway on October 19/20 providing new drivers the opportunity to test the waters in the unparalleled driver development platform and returning drivers the chance to make a head start on their 2020 campaigns.

Andersen Promotions today announced a long-term partnership with the Lucas Oil School of Racing which will see the leading driver training platform and race series become the Official Driving School of the Road to Indy Presented by Cooper Tires through 2022. The alliance builds on the synergy already in place with the Lucas Oil School of Racing serving as a stepping stone to the Road to Indy driver development ladder.

One year ago, Oconomowoc, Wis-based Pabst Racing claimed pole position for both Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship races at its home track, only to fall short of the victory on each occasion. Today’s Cooper Tires Grand Prix of Road America Powered by Elite Engines turned out rather better for the local team as New Zealand’s Hunter McElrea worked his way past pole-sitting teammate Colin Kaminsky and went on to score a well-deserved maiden victory.​
