American Road to Indy drivers aiming for strong results at their home coast event

MONTEREY, Calif. - Newman Wachs Racing will make its debut at the 2.238-mile, 11-turn WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca this weekend for Rounds 14 and 15 of the Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship. Palo Alto, California’s Nolan Siegel will take to his home track and will be rejoined by Kyle Dupell from Oregon, who competed with the team at the Grand Prix of Portland.

Siegel and Dupell will team up to strive for their best results of the season. Nolan did not post the results he would have liked during Race 1 in Portland, but he bounced back in Race 2 and delivered one of his best performances of 2019, making many impressive passes for positions. Dupell had a consistent weekend in Portland in his first start of the season, as he became more and more comfortable with the team as the event progressed, finding more speed in every on-track session. Siegel and Dupell will take to the track on Friday morning for their one and only practice, followed by Qualifying 1 in the afternoon, to officially start the Road to Indy season finale.

“Coming into the last race of the year, I expect Nolan to start right where he left off at Portland,” offered Brian Halahan, NWR Team Manager. “The final results don’t show it, but he did a great job and really had great pace. I would not be surprised to see him get his best result of the season this weekend. I’m sure Kyle will keep getting more comfortable as well. This will be his second weekend with the team, so I am sure he will be improving every session and we will see better results.”

Siegel and Dupell will be on-track starting on Friday (September 20), kicking off the doubleheader weekend with one official practice early in the morning followed by qualifying for Race 1 in the late afternoon. Saturday will again start bright and early with Qualifying 2, with Race 1 taking place later that day. The weekend will be capped on Sunday morning with the running of Race 2 at 10:25 am PST.
