LOVELAND, Ohio – With pole positions, podium results and victories to his credit in 2023, Jay Howard Driver Development competitor Evagoras Papasavvas is heading west in an effort to close his season strong. Ready to battle the 1.964-mile Portland International Raceway for the final USF2000 Presented by Cooper Tires event of the season, Papasavvas will have three chances to earn another victory during the triple header finale weekend.

Entering the weekend fifth in the point standings and with the championship unattainable, Papasavvas will be pushing hard for race wins and podium results. As one of the front-runners this season, the young Ohio resident has been a breath of fresh air in the series after a partial campaign during the 2022 season.

“We have yet to confirm 2024 plans,” explained Papasavvas. “The focus is 100 percent on this weekend and results. There is a chance to finish third in the championship standings and that is what we are pushing for. Either way, it has been a great season to date, and I want to finish it strong.”

With a triple-header event that kicks off Thursday afternoon with test sessions, a trio of races will happen with one each on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday with the last wheel-to-wheel action marking the close of the 2023 season. 

Papasavvas continued, “There is no holding back. We are pretty safe in the point standings from the competitors behind us, so it is full focus forward.”
