TORONTO – Florida driver Darren Keane will make his return to the challenging 11-turn, 1.786-mile street circuit in Toronto with his Cape Motorsports team this weekend (July 12-14), arriving with positive momentum that has been building throughout the year.

The 19-year-old University of Florida engineering student is coming off a strong second place finish at Road America, which was a crucial recovery from his 12th in the opening race of the Wisconsin doubleheader. These two finishes have positioned Darren in fourth in the Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship points, very much within the championship battle.

Keane will take to the track early Friday morning to begin the weekend with a focus on leveraging his confidence and experience from the past two years to come out of the gate strongly. Toronto is one of his favorite tracks and he’s already shown he has the pace on street courses, grabbing a pole this year at the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg.

“I’m really looking forward to this weekend in Toronto,” Keane enthused, having just wrapped up his freshman year at the University of Florida. “I’m hoping for two clean races and for some great results. I think the team and I will be very strong this weekend and I can’t wait to get the event started.”

Darren will be on-track on Friday (July 12) for one 30-minute practice session at 8:00 am EDT followed by qualifying for Race 1 of the Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship. Saturday’s schedule (July 13) will begin early once again with qualifying for Race 2 beginning the on-track action for the day, followed up by Race 1 in the afternoon. The weekend will be completed early Sunday morning with the second race of the doubleheader.
