Garett Grist, No. 7 DaVinci Foods
Garett Grist was able to come away with a 16th-place finish after a spin on Lap 14 of today's season finale race in Houston after being seen in the top-10 for most of the 16-lap race. The USF2000 rookie finishes the championship points standings in third - the highest placed rookie of 2013.
"Today was a good day. We started the race 10th and made our way up to fifth. On the first lap, the guy we were battling with for the rookie championship and third overall went out, so from there I just started pushing hard. I had a spin on the second to last lap and wasn't able to get the car restarted because the battery died. But overall great season, great day. We were quick in the wet (track conditions) which is always a good thing, I really enjoyed today. Huge thank you to my sponsors and Andretti Autosport for such a successful rookie year."
Austin Cindric, No. 77 Nightrain Austin Cindric ends his rookie year of USF2000 on a high note, earning his third top-10 finish of the season with seventh place; the 15-year-old will clinch the 17th position (of 28) in the championship.
"It was a little bit different going out in the rain on a street course, but we started 14th and made our way up to seventh so not a bad day. I've got to thank Andretti Autosport for giving me a great car to make my way through the pack again, along with Nightrain Clothing, OMP Racing, Snap-On, Kimberley Clark and everyone for supporting us all season."
