Garett Grist, No. 7 DaVinci Foods

Garett Grist remained patient and stayed out of trouble during the multiple-caution period Race One where the Grimsby, Ontario native rolled off the grid in fifth and finished fourth. The 18-year-old will start Race Two from the fourth position.

"Today was a good day for us. It started out rough in qualifying, but we worked as a team to fix the car for Race One. In Race One we ended up P4 with one of the quickest race laps. We were in a position to pass for third, but a late race caution came out ending the race under yellow. I think we have great momentum heading into tomorrow morning's race as we continue to improve the car and also my driving. I'd like to thank my Andretti guys and all of my sponsors for their continued support."

Austin Cindric, No. 77 Nightrain

Making his best career start to date from 11th, Austin Cindric fell back early on in Race One from Mazda Raceway. The 14-year-old was on the move back to the top 10 when he was involved in an incident with fellow competitors; Cindric was shown in the 20th position and will start Race Two from 15th.

"Race One did not turn out how we wanted. Felt like we had a top 10 car all weekend... unfortunately we had a bad start, and had to work our way from the back. We made it as high as 13th when another car ended my day, so we'll just have to pick our way through the field in Race Two."
