Shelby Blackstock, Team Starstruck, No. 8 Blackstock finished 8th in the second USF2000 National Championship race at Road America. He was 21st in the first race today, after being gathered in an accident on the first lap. He will start seventh in tomorrow's race, which starts at 9:45am ET.
"Today did not go as well as we were all hoping. I got caught up in a wreck during the first race. The flagger had not waved the yellow and the person in front of me braked, so I went into the back of him and Thomas got into the back of my car. I started eighth in the second race and was able to maintain that finish to the end of the race. I want to thank my Andretti Autosport team for all of their hard work. Hopefully we can have a positive finish in tomorrow's race."
Thomas McGregor, Team Exclusive Management Inc. / Dairy Queen, No. 7
McGregor finished 23rd in the first race at Road America today, after also being gathered in the accident on Lap 1. He was 28th in the second race, after he was taken out in another incident. He will start 25th in tomorrow's race.
"This weekend has been very difficult for us. I am devastated with our result for my Andretti Autosport crew, my sponsors, management team and family who came from Canada to support me this weekend. I had a great start to the race where I passed 14 cars on the first lap. Unfortunately, while being side by side with another driver going into turn 6, the driver turned down on me and took me out of the race. As tough as this weekend has been, it's character building and I know that we will come back strong tomorrow. I can't thank the Andretti Autosport team enough for their continued support and all their hard work."
