Sheboygan Falls, Wis. - The 2014 Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship Powered by Mazda race season concluded last weekend at Sonoma Raceway. ArmsUp Motorsports Finished the season in second place in the team championship point standings, up from 10th in the prior year. With the driving lineup of Aaron Telitz, Peter Portante and James Dayson, the team earned eight podium finishes and an additional four top-five finishes in 14 races.

Teammate Peter Portante of Plainville, Conn, finished sixth in the standings after much perseverance in a season filled with attrition. For James Dayson the race season was a short one, after a severe back injury forced him to watch from the sidelines for the first eight of the 14 rounds.
"It was a fantastic year for our team," said ArmsUp Owner Gregg Borland. "In the good and the bad, we stuck together as a team and we had great results to show for it. Everyone worked so hard throughout the year and it feels great to have the results to back it up. It'll give us great momentum for next year."

Quotes:
Aaron Telitz: "My 2014 race season may have started out slow with two DNF's but it turned around quickly and never looked back! All season, the guys at ArmsUp Motorsports have been giving me a super-fast car and I put it to good use scoring 1 win, 6 podiums, Rookie of the Year, and 4th in the championship. Not to mention with the help of teammates Peter and James, we put ArmsUp 2nd in the team championship! I had so much fun this season with all the guys at ArmsUp. Racing is always fun, but when you get to be a part of such a fun team it makes it even more memorable. I'd like to extend a huge thank you to ArmsUp Motorsports, Mazda, Rice Lake Weighing Systems, Assured Automotive, PPG Finishes, Chuck G Fabrication, Steve Welk, and my parents for all of your support this season. I can't wait to see what 2015 will bring me. A championship of some sort would be swell.
Peter Portante: "2014 was an interesting year, for sure. We had our ups and downs, but in the end I was able to learn a ton and have a great year with one of the best teams. The year with ArmsUp Motorsports and the Borland brothers will be one I remember for years to come, and I can't thank them enough for everything they have done for me."
James Dayson: "It was an up and down season for me. Obviously, the severe back injury causing me to sit out ten months from the car and miss half the season was tough physically and mentally. When I finally got cleared I was behind the 8 ball and had a lot of ground to make up. Getting used to the new car from the national class car I had last year. This car is phenomenal, as well as the engine, tires, and chassis. Everything is such a pleasure to drive. The series is so competitive and well run I have to do one more year. Overall I was very happy with my quick progress and improvement over the last 7 races. I definitely did the best I could and know I have a lot of work ahead to be better for next year. I'm looking forward to the prep during the offseason with lots of testing and hopefully some races in other series over the winter. I'm so grateful to have such a great team behind me. I've run for three years now with ArmsUp and couldn't be happier. They are like my family away from home. It's a great atmosphere and the team gives me a great car and all the support I need to be better and improve. I'm excited for some big gains and better results in 2015."
