Baron Legacy 2019 Indy Advance
Lebanon, Ind. - After a very eventful start to their Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship, Legacy Autosport and Alex Baron head to the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway this weekend. Competing in rounds three and four of the 2019 season, Legacy Autosport will look to build off the momentum from a fourth place result in round two at the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg, as Baron looks to score another victory at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, just as he did in 2018.

"We only have Alex in the car this weekend, but he is one of the best around the Indy road course so we are expecting big things," explained Mike Meyer. "Alex brings a lot of experience to our program and is a proven winner at Indy. We had a very good test at the Speedway during the Chris Griffis test in 2018 and will be aiming for the top step of the podium again this weekend."

After claiming victories in 2018, including one at the Indianapolis Grand Prix, Baron joined Legacy Autosport and entered the 2019 Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship as one of the championship favorites. A huge wreck during the opening corner of the first event back in March put them behind early, but the never say die and never give up attitude of the Pittsboro, Indiana-based program powered through the weekend claiming a fourth place result with Baron on Sunday.

"I can't say enough about the crew and how hard they worked in St. Pete," explained Meyer. "After barrel rolling and ending upside down in the first corner, I was sure our weekend was over, but the guys rallied together and got everything back together for Sunday. We worked well into the night on Saturday and were the first team in the paddock on Sunday morning. We did not know if the car would even make a lap, but we salvaged a fourth place result. A deserving finish for all the hard work."

Focusing on a one car effort for the Indianapolis Grand Prix weekend, Legacy Autosport is looking to fill the second seat for the remainder of the 2019 season beginning at either the Lucas Oil Raceway oval event May 23rd and 24th, or at the next road course event at Road America in mid-June.
