Jeffers leads USF2000 team with double podiums and new lap record

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Exclusive Autosport kicked off the 2025 USF Pro Championships Presented by Continental Tire season by making a statement with two second-place finishes, three top-fives and a quartet of top-10 results. Series freshman Jack Jeffers led the team with his two runner-up results while also setting a new fastest race lap record for USF2000 on the streets of St. Petersburg. These results place Jeffers second in the title chase to begin the season. Fellow rookie Evan Cooley delivered strong performances as well with fourth and sixth-place finishes to put him in a tie for third in the championship standings. The third driver in EA’s talented trio for 2025, Brazilian Lucas Fecury, earned his best-ever USF2000 result with a seventh in Race 1.

“I am very happy for the team for a very solid performance at St. Petersburg,” said Michael Duncalfe, Co-Owner and CEO. “We came into this weekend incredibly prepared and calm and ready for the action at St. Petersburg. I am very proud of not only the drivers, but also our crew. We executed our plan and it paid dividends with two solid podium finishes and a second-place position in both the driver and team championship. We are set up well for a very strong 2025 campaign and are looking forward to getting back on track at NOLA in April.”

The weekend kicked off Friday with morning practice, followed by qualifying and Race 1 later in the afternoon. The team came out of the gate strong, with both Jeffers and Cooley being the fastest in practice. After an early red flag in qualifying, the drivers got back into a groove and continued to challenge for the top spot on the time chart. Ultimately, Jeffers qualified fourth, with Cooley in eighth and Fecury in 11th. Race 1 took place late Friday afternoon under the sun setting. Jeffers, Cooley, and Fecury immediately went into attack mode when the green flag waved, all having impressive starts to move themselves up the order right away. After applying pressure on the leader all race long, Jeffers crossed the line in second, while Cooley finished fourth. Fecury was in a multi-car fight all race, and his efforts were rewarded with a seventh-place finish, his career best.

Race 2 on Saturday afternoon had a relatively calm start, with all three drivers having great launches once again. Jeffers went on the attack immediately and moved around the outside at the start to take over second place, where he would ultimately finish, but not before snagging the fastest race lap to date. Evan drove a clean race to post his second top-10 of the weekend with a sixth-place finish. Unfortunately, another driver made contact with Lucas on the first lap in turn 1, which caused him to fall to the tail of the field. He was able to continue and collect valuable points, however, he crossed the line in the 18th.  The solid results from the drivers have now put Exclusive Autosport into second in the Team Championship standings, which is crucial for pit lane stall assignments during the following race weekends.

The team has returned to the EA headquarters in Brownsburg, Indiana, to prep for the next round of the 2025 season, which takes place on the April 10-13 weekend at NOLA Motorsports Park. All three series will run together, each being a triple-header rounds, with USF Juniors drivers Brenden Cooley and Kaylee Countryman kicking off their seasons alongside their USF2000 and USF Pro 2000 teammates.
