St. Petersburg, Fla. - Cape Motorsports with Wayne Taylor Racing duo Nico Jamin and Aaron Telitz finished on the podium in the Mazda Championship Presented by Cooper Tires Mazda Freedom 75, May 23. The 75-lap race was held at Lucas Oil Raceway the day before the Indianapolis 500.
Jamin started on the pole for the fifth consecutive race, while teammate Telitz started third. In the opening lap, eventual race winner Jake Eidson got the jump on Jamin to take the lead.
Jamin and Telitz battled hard during the 75-lap race but neither was able to pass Eidson and the duo finished second and third respectably.
“To have both drivers on the podium is a great day,” said team owners Dominic and Nicholas Cape. “We’re very pleased with the drivers and the team – it was a great effort.”
The team will next head to Canada for the Grand Prix of Toronto, June 12-14.
