CARMEL, Ind. – With a couple of event weekends under his belt in different series, American Dane Scott will be expanding his knowledge in USF2000 Presented by Cooper Tires. With his eyes set on a full-season effort in 2024, Scott will continue his quest with the Jay Howard Driver Development (JHDD) program and see his first official USF2000 on-track action at the upcoming Road America race weekend in Elkhart Lake, Wis.
“I can’t thank Jay and his entire crew enough for all of the hard work and support this season,” said Scott. “Being able to try my hand at a different series mid-season is not always possible, but Jay has given me the opportunity. I know I will be well prepared as I have the knowledge and support around me to get the job done with this program.”
Having already completed one test day in USF2000 machinery at Putnam Park, Scott will spring into action at the 4.014-mile, 14-turn Road America over the June 15-18 weekend. Looking for more seat time and green flag racing, Scott has yet to confirm his plans for the remainder of the 2023 race season.
“While Dane is still very young in his racing career, he is quite mature for his age,” said Jay Howard, owner of the Jay Howard Driver Development effort. “This move into our USF program is to allow him to get a feel for the next level. It will help him train and prepare for the future, but also push his skillset to the max.”
Dane’s first on-track activity in his new USF2000 equipment will take place on Thursday, June 15 during a pair of Promoter Test Sessions that will lead into rounds nine and 10 of the 2023 USF2000 Presented by Cooper Tires season.
