BELMONT, N.C. – Moving to eighth in the USF2000 Presented by Cooper Tires Championship standings, VRD Racing’s Danny Dyszelski is looking for more this Friday night. Set to compete at the Carb Night Classic at Lucas Oil Raceway, Dyszelski will do battle at the short oval on a busy weekend in the Indianapolis area with the 107th Running of the Indianapolis 500 set for Sunday.

“I am looking forward to the only oval race of the season,” explained Dyszelski. “We made huge strides forward in our open wheel program after multiple wins in sportscar racing and hoping that I can land the first podium result of my USF2000 season this weekend.”

Working to address braking issues, and suffering race damage to the tub of the car twice throughout the first seven races of the 2023 season, Dyszelski and VRD Racing are switching to a backup car for the upcoming event.

Dyszelski added, “My team at VRD has been working hard with me. We started the season with brake problems at St. Pete, and then a complete chassis change was required after the Sebring event due to a cracked tub from race contact. We then had problems during practice and my team made a change to the brakes for the Indy Road Course event that really made a difference. We started out strong, but then we suffered significant chassis damage in the last race of the weekend due to an incident on the track, which required an immediate change to a backup car to be ready for the Indy Oval. I know we can make a good showing if we can get in a clean race or two after all that we have been through to start the season.”
