NEW ALBANY, Ohio - Braden Eves heads to his home race at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course this weekend leading the Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship series by 41 points. Eves was 2nd quickest during the series test at the 2.3-mile-long road course last month and looks to carry this momentum into both races this weekend, hoping to extend his championship lead with more wins.
Eves, driving for Cape Motorsports, who have won eight championship titles in a row, won the first four races of the 2019 USF2000 Championship as well as Round 7 at Road America. Toronto did not yield the ideal results, with a 4th place finish in Race 1 and contact resulting in a tire puncture and an 11th place finish in Race 2. Despite the disappointing results in Toronto, Braden held his 41-point championship lead advantage.
“I am really excited to compete at Mid-Ohio: I always have a lot of friends and family that come out to support me there. I really want to be able to win in front of all of them, as well as get a win for my new sponsor, Huston Insurance. Overall though, I have my eyes on the championship so I am going to make sure I maximize my results every session out,” Eves explained.
Huston Insurance, a Tiffin, Ohio-based insurance agency, is a new sponsor for Braden at Mid-Ohio. Huston Insurance’s Denny Huston, a long-time fan of Braden, said, “I think Braden has a chance at being a tremendous driver. I couldn’t resist the opportunity to help support him!”
