Wayside, N.J. – With four races in the Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship Powered by Mazda now in the books and the momentum of a pair of Top 5 finishes at the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg to build on, Trent Hindman will spend his Easter holiday weekend in England, where he will make his Protyre Formula Renault BARC debut with Cliff Dempsey Racing at the season-opening triple-header at Snetterton.

“I’ve been looking forward to the start of Formula Renault BARC ever since I signed up for the season”, noted Hindman. “The recent media day and test at Silverstone just got me more excited to get the season under way.”

Owing to the unique nature of this year’s USF2000 schedule, Hindman will compete in a total of six Formula Renault BARC races over two weekends before returning to USF2000 on Memorial Day weekend for his oval racing debut at the annual Night Before the 500 at Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis. This multi-series program is nothing new to the Wayside, N.J. driver.

“Last year I ran the Ontario Formula Ford Championship on the off weekends from the Skip Barber National and was fortunate enough to win the OFFC title. I enjoyed my Team USA Scholarship experience with Cliff Dempsey Racing, so when the opportunity came up to join the team for Formula Renault BARC, I jumped on it. With the exception of the August event in Donington, which conflicts with USF2000 at Road America, the two series schedules have worked out quite well.”

Snetterton Circuit
Approximately two hours northeast of London, between the Town of Thetford and the City of Norwich sits the Village of Snetterton and nearby Snetterton Circuit. Like many racing circuits in England, Snetterton can trace its origins to World War II, where as RAF Snetterton Heath it served as a base of operation for USAAF B-17 Flying Fortresses from 1943 through the end of the war. After the war, the air base was purchased from the British government and converted over to use as a racing circuit.

Following upgrades in 2011, Snetterton Circuit is a multi-use racing facility with three available configurations and hosts everything from the British Touring Car Championship to British Superbikes. Formula Renault BARC and the other series racing at Snetterton this weekend will use the “200” Circuit, a two-mile, eight turn configuration that closely follows the track’s original layout. Although he hasn’t previously raced at Snetterton, Hindman has tested at the facility with Cliff Dempsey Racing.
