Team to compete in complete Road to Indy ladder

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Fresh off their maiden Indy Lights Presented by Cooper Tires victory and their fourth podium with two different drivers in the past four weekends, HMD Motorsports is set for expansion to compete in the complete Road to Indy. With two Indy Lights cars running for the last half of the 2019 season, HMD Motorsports will have two cars available for the upcoming Chris Griffis Memorial Test at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in both the USF2000 and Indy Pro 2000 platforms.

After a mid-season restructure and the acquisition of six cars, HMD Motorsports has been diligently working behind the scenes to get everything in order. With their primary focus on the only two team drivers at the moment, Toby Sowery and David Malukas in Indy Lights, that part of the business is now stable and improving each and every weekend.

Now, with the 2019 season nearly complete and the 2020 program on the horizon, the staff at HMD Motorsports is putting the finishing touches on their Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship and Indy Pro 2000 Championship Presented by Cooper Tires entries. Set to launch their program at the October 19th and 20th Chris Griffis Test, the now Indianapolis based team is leaving no stone unturned.

"We are ready to hit the ground running and provide some of the best prepared and ready to race cars," explained Team Manager John Cummiskey. "We have been working overtime to get everything moved over to the new shop in Indy and prepped to our level. We have hired full-time staff that we will employ year-round and have begun to plan a winter test program. Our goal is to enter the Chris Griffis Test and the 2020 season with the speed and drivers to win races."

"The HMD Motorsports outfit has quickly evolved into a championship caliber team," explained Lead Engineer Geoff Fickling. "As a team, our goal is to push our development from Indy Lights down the Road to Indy ladder through Indy Pro 2000 and into USF2000."

With two cars available for each series, parties interested in the upcoming Chris Griffis Test are asked to contact HMD Motorsports via email to Info@HMDMotorsports.com.
