Jensen MotorSport development driver Ryan Tveter finished a commendable 8th place in his first USF2000 race competition at the inaugural Baltimore Grand Prix this past weekend.
In front of a massive crowd estimated in excess of 150,000 people during the 3 day event weekend, Ryan Tveter made an impressive performance given that it was his first USF2000 race competition and also the challenges presented by the tricky downtown city street circuit venue around the Camden Yards baseball stadium where the Major League Baltimore Orioles team plays.
Tveter, a 17 year old from New York, has enjoyed a successful debut professional racing season with the Jensen MotorSport team. At the high profile Montreal Grand Prix event together with Formula One in June, Ryan scored a 10th place finish in the Quebec F1600 championship (out of 44 cars). Ryan again scored a solid 11th place result at the famous Trois-Rivieres Quebec street race in August.
In April 2011, Ryan Tveter was signed to a long-term driver development deal by Jensen MotorSport. Team owner Eric Jensen states, “Ryan is a talented driver who continues to impress everyone in the racing industry with his speed and character. Our team made a good decision by signing Ryan as one of our development drivers, and I am excited to soon announce Ryan’s plans for the 2012 racing season as Ryan continues to progress through the Mazda Road to Indy ranks towards eventual competition in the IZOD IndyCar Championship.”
The Jensen MotorSport team returns to race action in the Firestone Indy Lights Championship at Kentucky Speedway later this month, and concludes our 2012 race season on the high-speed oval at Las Vegas Speedway the weekend of October 15th.
