Pabst Racing Announces 19-year-old Jake Eidson For 2015 Mazda Road To Indy

Oconomowoc, Wisconsin - The start of the official 2015 Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship Powered by Mazda is quickly approaching and Oconomowoc, Wisconsin-based Pabst Racing today announced the signing of their second full-season driver, Jake Eidson. After a successful Cooper Tires Winterfest Championship where the team and driver earned two wins together, they proved to be a championship contending team this season.

19-year-old Littleton, Colorado native, Jake Eidson will join the team to pilot the #22 Pabst Racing VanDiemen for his second season of the 16-race Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship. Both a Skip Barber and F1600 Champion who started in karting at age 12, Eidson looks to continue moving up the ladder on the Mazda Road to Indy and feels prepared for the season with hopes of continuing to develop as a driver.

"I'm extremely excited to be coming back for another year of USF2000 with Pabst Racing." Said Eidson. "The team has done a lot of work during the off season to make sure that I have the best opportunity for success."

Team owner Augie Pabst was equally enthusiastic about the upcoming season, which will begin with the Verizon IndyCar Series on the Streets of St. Petersburg in St. Petersburg, Florida on March 28.

"St. Pete can't come soon enough for us! Jake's consistent speed and maturity behind the wheel at Winterfest was an impressive demonstration of what every team is looking for in a driver," said Augie Pabst. "We are thrilled to have Jake on board for the 2015 season and have high expectations for great results throughout the year."

Eidson, who is also a student at Northwest Florida State College, was a Team USA Scholarship winner and finished fifth in the Formula Ford Festival in 2013. Dedicated to his future, he looks at 2015 as an opportunity to continue developing as a driver to achieve his goals of becoming a Verizon IndyCar Series driver.

"My goals for this year, in addition to winning the championship, would be developing a good working relationship with the team as well as having a better understanding of the car," said Eidson when asked about his goals for the season. "After some good results from the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg last year I feel very prepared going into this year. I want to thank everyone that's helped me get here including my parents, sponsors, and the Pabst Racing team."

Pabst Racing and its two drivers (Jake Eidson and Yufeng Luo) will take to the 1.8 mile 14 turn street circuit over the course of the Friday March 27 weekend.
