Race 2 – 17th, (17/17 laps)
“We had a great car last weekend, but just had some bad luck. We were just a couple of tenths away from qualifying in the Top 10 in both races, and I got lots more comfortable in the car as the weekend went on. It’s always tough to go out on the first lap of a race like we did in Race 1, but late in Race 2 we were putting in some great lap times. I really enjoyed my first experience driving at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, and I think we are building some momentum. I look forward to getting back in the car and racing at another historic track in Road America next month.”
Colin Kaminsky, Homer Glen, Ill. (No. 27 Slick Locks/Kaminsky Racing)
Q1 – 20th, (1:26.6902)
Race 1 – Career-best 12th, (15/15 laps)
Q2 – 20th, (1:26.2919)
Race 2 – 22nd, (0/17 laps, contact)
“It was certainly an up-and-down weekend. By the time Friday’s race came along, we had a really good car, and that showed in Race 1. The car was really comfortable and I was able to get some spots on a restart and move up the field. To finish 12th after how I qualified was a great effort, and I credit the guys on the crew for their hard work to make the car so good for the race. In Race 2, a couple of cars spun in front of me in Turn 2 and I had nowhere to go, which was disappointing because I felt another good result was possible. I’m excited to head to Road America, I’ve raced there before in SCCA competition and like the track a lot.”
