Jay Howard Driver Development will bring three drivers in USF2000 and one in USF Pro 2000 to St. Petersburg
CARMEL, Ind. – The USF Pro Championships Presented by Continental Tire opens its 2024 season on the Streets of St. Petersburg this coming weekend, a much-anticipated event annually. With both series of competition expecting to have 20 entrants or more, the race for the 2024 championship commences for a long, hard-fought season that will see events from coast-to-coast. Among the 10 teams competing in both USF Pro Championships program is returning challenger Jay Howard Driver Development (JHDD) as they bring a healthy driver lineup to kick off the season of festivities in St. Petersburg.
The team heads to St. Petersburg fresh off a two-day Spring Training series test at NOLA Motorsports Park including all three USF Pro Championships Presented by Continental Tire series: USF Pro 2000, USF2000 and USF Juniors. While some drivers used the event to test setups or get familiarized with the equipment that they will race in 2024, other drivers found the speed to be at the pointy end of the result sheets from the very first session last Monday.
“We’ve got a strong driver lineup for the year,” said Team Owner and former INDYCAR SERIES driver Jay Howard. “With many drivers either returning to the series or making the move to our program in the off-season brings us a mix of young guns and experienced talent. It’s always important to start the season off right so we’re aiming high in both programs to see if we can repeat several of the podium results and race wins that we had in 2023.”
The full Jay Howard Driver Development driver lineup is as follows:
USF Pro 2000 Drivers:
#6 - Frankie Mossman
USF2000 Drivers:
#6 - Evagoras Papasavvas
#8 - Michael Costello
#9 - Tanner DeFabis
The season opener will include a single practice session and qualifying for each series followed by two races each.
