ELKHART LAKE, Wis. – With five rounds in the books and nine to go, Darren Keane has his sights set on his hunt for the Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship Powered by Mazda. Keane is ready to move into the second half of the season as the series heads to Road America for the fourth event weekend of the year.

Having just completed an official test at the 4.014-mile circuit in rural Wisconsin, completing 75 total test laps, Keane now has a gauge of where his No. 36 Newman Wachs Mazda powered machine sits heading into the event weekend.

The Road America race weekend will see all three rungs of the Mazda Road to Indy Presented by Cooper Tires in action along with the main Verizon IndyCar Series event. Road America’s legendary Canada, Kink and Carousel corners as well as the famous Sargento bridge will play host to the USF2000 double header event weekend.

Keane, who has shown prowess through the initial stops on the USF2000 calendar, is now looking to generate some momentum in the championship chase in the highly competitive USF2000 field. Keane currently sits seventh in the points standing with 71 points – just five markers behind fifth.

“I’m hoping that this will be a good weekend for me and the team,” said Keane. “We got a lot of laps but the test didn’t go as well as we had hoped so we will be looking to get a good baseline going right out of the gates when we get there this weekend. My main focus is to improve from Indy and hopefully get a top seven result.”

The 4.014-mile road course has been a fan and driver favorite marking a staple track in North American racing, and Keane is looking forward to heading back to one of his favorite tracks on the USF2000 schedule.

“Road America and Toronto are my two favorite tracks so I can’t wait to get back out to racing there,” said Keane. “I just love all of the high speed corners that really showcase what you are made of. The speed of the corners make you push yourself as a driver.”

The Road America weekend will kick off this Friday with practice and two rounds of qualifying. The first race of the weekend will go green on Saturday, June 23rd at 1:10 p.m. CT with the second race on Sunday, June 24 at 8:00 a.m. CT.
