The 2019 season offered much to celebrate for Brazilian driver Kiko Porto (Petromega/DEForce Racing/Speed Group). In the first year in which he ran all events of the F4 United States Championship, the 16-year-old from Pernambuco secured runner-up in the category with three wins, two second places and three more podium finishes to showcase the talents of the rising Brazilian driver.
Now, for the 2020 season, Porto and the DEForce Racing team have decided to come together in a new challenge: the Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship. INDYCAR-sanctioned, it is the first step on the way to the NTT IndyCar Series. The first leg will be March 13-15 on the streets of St. Petersburg, Fla. In total there will be nine events throughout the year with seven series tests.
“I've done some testing this year in USF2000 and the car is very good and fast. I am very happy, too, to continue with DEForce Racing. We had a very successful partnership in 2019 and I believe next year will be no different. Let's stay focused to get good results,” commented Porto during the announcement of the change of category.
