Traveling west to the WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, Legacy Autosport drivers Zach Holden and Ayrton Ori looked for success in Monterey, California. With points on the line and experienced to be gained, the Indianapolis based program claimed two top-ten results including one top-five as they closed out their 2019 campaign.
"It was a good but trying weekend," explained Legacy Autosport's Mike Meyer. "We have great cars in race conditions but need to qualify better. I think when we start behind the eight ball it is difficult to claim the results that we are aiming for. We will be making this a priority in 2020, and I am confident that will lead to many more race wins, podium results and better finishes in the championship points battle."
With qualifying for Saturday's race one taking place on Friday afternoon, Zach Holden claimed the team's best result with an eleventh-place effort while Aryton Ori, in only his second event of the series, rolled off outside row nine. While podium results were almost impossible from their starting positions, the goal of improvement was set as the team prepared for Sunday's second wheel-to-wheel action of the weekend. Holden secured a tenth-place result when the final checkered flag flew while Ori added his best result of his short season with a 16th place effort.

Back to the track on Sunday morning and competing just before the NTT IndyCar Series finale, Holden would begin his campaign from P8 while Ori started inside row nine in the 17th position. After a terrific series of opening laps, Holden quickly moved his way forward into the top-five while Ori leveled up to run inside the top-fifteen. Pushing hard throughout the race, Holden secured his second top-five finish in the past three races with Ori adding his second 16th place result on the weekend.
Meyer added, "It was a solid end to the season, and we are looking forward to the annual Chris Griffis Test and several announcements for the 2020 race season."
Legacy Autosport will return back to Indianapolis and immediately begin preparations for the 2019 Chris Griffis Memorial Test at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. With a pair of USF2000 cars available, Legacy Autosport also has the ability to run additional drivers over the two-day test weekend.
