Indianapolis, Ind. - With back-to-back races in the Indianapolis area, Legacy Autosport is primed and ready for the fifth round of the Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship.

 

Heading to 0.686-mile long Lucas Oil Raceway in Brownsburg, Indiana, Alex Baron will be back behind the wheel as the team looks to build on the momentum from round four just two short weeks ago.

 

"We had a very good test," expressed Legacy Autosports Mike Meyer as he discussed participating in the USF2000 Series test at the Lucas Oil Raceway on May 13^th. "Our goal was to work through some oval setups and ideas that we had to see what worked and how. Since the test, we have completely gone through the cars and prepped race winning material for the May 24^th event."

 

Taking place on May 23^rd and 24^th, Legacy Autosport will take part in the  Carb Day festivities. While the Cooper Tire Indy Lights drivers run their Freedom 100 on the oval at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the NTT IndyCar Series has their final practice before running 500 miles on the 26^th, Baron and Legacy Autosport will compete in the Carb Night Classic only ten miles east at the Lucas Oil Raceway in the Freedom 75.

 

Meyer continued, "The test last week provided our program with top-five pace and while we were not focused on the time sheets, our goal was to make our car as stable as possible and our driver comfortable with his equipment. After the test, we feel we checked a lot of the boxes and will try and put it all together this week."

 

With one practice session before qualifying on Thursday afternoon, Baron and Legacy Autosport will hit the track Friday afternoon for a short warm-up before the Freedom 75. Stay tuned to the Legacy Autosport social media pages for up-to-date news, information, photos and results from the event.
