As the clock ticks down to this year’s first race of the season for the Road to Indy Presented by Cooper Tires in St. Petersburg, March 13th – 15th, Legacy Autosport has announced its first confirmed driver for 2020’s Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship. Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia native Cameron Shields will join forces with Legacy Autosport.
With Shields already rich race history – 53 Open-Wheel race wins, 112 Open-Wheel Podium finishes, 2019- AiM Move of the Year – USF2000, 2019- Hi-Tide Spirit Award – USF2000, 2019- Carb Night Classic Race Winner at Indianapolis, 2019- Sports Australia Hall of Fame Scholarship Recipient (announced 2018), 2018- Australian Formula 3 Premier Series Championship – 2nd, CAMS 2017- Australian Young Driver of the Year, CAMS 2017- Foundation Rising Star Scholarship, 2017- Australian Formula 4 Championship – 3rd, 2017- Australian Formula Ford Championship – 2nd, and 2016- Australian Formula 3 National Class Champion (Youngest person to win National Formula 3) – Legacy and Shields will be the team to watch in 2020.
