OKA, Qué., Canada - It will be a busy month for Thomas Nepveu as he prepares to compete in the fifth round of the Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship at Road America this weekend. Afterwards, he will head to the annual Breakfast Club of Canada Golf Tournament to represent the organization as an ambassador.

Road America is a meaningful track for the Oka native, as he scored his first USF2000 win there. "It's a fun track with long straights," said Thomas. "It makes for great overtaking and battles.

Indeed, the 6.5-kilometre Elkhart Lake (Wisconsin) track is known for its old-school layout and 14 challenging corners.

"The qualifying session may be difficult as the draft is hard to get. Track positioning will be key to setting a good time. However, the qualifying session is not as important as at some other tracks where it is difficult to overtake."

The DEForce Racing team tested there back in May, and Thomas feels he's up to repeat his feat of 2021. "The goal is to score as many points in the championship as possible and to get back up the hill, which is pretty steep."

The driver of the #10 Cromwell | Pétrole Bélanger | Home Hardware | Karting Excellence car is currently eighth in the championship, just four points out of seventh place and 10 points out of sixth.

Upon his return, he will resume his role as the youngest ambassador of the Breakfast Club. Thomas will participate in the annual golf tournament on June 13 to help raise funds for the organization that provides healthy breakfast to kids all across the country.
