LEXINGTON, Ohio - Newman Wachs Racing will make its return to the 2.258-mile, 13-turn track at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course this coming weekend for Rounds 10 and 11 of the Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship.

American Nolan Siegel will be the sole driver for the team for this outing and the Californian is coming off another weekend of immense learning and development on the daunting streets of Toronto. Although he did not post the results he would have liked in Canada, Nolan gained his third top-10 of the year and this run is a big accomplishment for a rookie considering the steep amount of competition in this USF2000 series.

Siegel will take to the track on Thursday for a Promoter Test Day, followed by the series’ standard doubleheader line-up of races. Australian Cameron Shields, who currently sits seventh in the championship standings, has been forced to sit this event out due to budget constraints.

“This weekend, we will be going into the race with only Nolan, but I am very confident that Nolan will be stepping up his game as the whole team will put full focus on him,” offered Brian Halahan, NWR Team Manager. “He completed the series test here earlier this month and with the extra track time from the promoter test day, I’m sure we will be fighting for top-10 finishes or better in both races.  Unfortunately, Cameron's budget has dried up and he will continue to search for sponsorship for Portland and Laguna to hopefully make it back onto the grid.”

NWR and Siegel will be on-track starting on Thursday (July 25) for the Promotors Test with three on-track sessions. Friday’s schedule (July 26) will feature one official practice early in the morning followed by qualifying for Race 1 in the late afternoon. Saturday will again start bright and early with Qualifying 2, with Race 1 taking place later that day. Sunday morning will cap off the weekend with the running of Race 2.

Fans can follow along all weekend on the Road to Indy TV app, or through www.roadtoindy.tv or Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship Facebook page. Newman Wachs Racing will also have dedicated coverage of their weekend on all their professional social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram).

Quote: “Toronto was really tough for the whole team, but we've had two test days at Mid-Ohio and this weekend is going to be a great opportunity to bounce back. We have all the right pieces; we just need to fit them together and then we'll be in position to run up front and come away with some great finishes!”
