ELKHART LAKE, Wisc. - Newman Wachs Racing will make its return to the challenging four-mile 14-turn road course of Road America this weekend for Rounds 6 and 7 of the Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship. Coming off a big win at the Freedom 75 oval event with Australian driver Cameron Shields, the team is focused on maintaining their momentum coming into this weekend. 14-year-old Nolan Siegel scored his best result of the year at the Freedom 75, securing a 10th place finish in his oval debut and the additional experience should serve him well at Road America. With a pair of races on the schedule, Newman Wachs Racing’s trip to Wisconsin could certainly be a positive turning point in the hunt for the series championship.
“We’re not even to the midway point of the season and both our drivers are making tremendous progress, especially after finally capturing a win in the USF2000 series,” offered Brian Halahan, NWR Team Manager. “I expect both Nolan and Cameron to keep improving and we’re looking to get more consistent results as the year moves forward.”
NWR’s drivers will be on-track starting on Friday (June 21) with an early morning practice session followed by qualifying for Race 1. On Saturday (June 22), the team and the drivers will start bright and early with qualifying for Race 2 followed later in the afternoon with the first race of the doubleheader. Sunday’s action will be focused on the final race of the weekend, kicking off the day’s schedule at the iconic American road course ahead of the NTT IndyCar Series REV Group Grand Prix.

Quote: “After a fantastic last race at Lucas Oil Raceway, everybody at Newman Wachs Racing and myself are ready to go and continue our line of success for this weekend’s racing in USF2000 at Road America to support the NTT IndyCar Series. Both myself and Nolan have yet to drive around the track so, with just 30 minutes of practice before qualifying, we will be looking to make the most of it to ensure we have the best chance at taking pole position! It’s a very big track with long straights so I’m sure it will produce some of this year’s best racing over Saturday and Sunday, and I am definitely looking forward to it!”
