Oconomowoc, Wisconsin - Pabst Racing has announced that 14-year-old Max Garcia will return for his sophomore year in the USF2000 Championship Presented by Continental Tire. 2024 will mark Garcia’s first full season of competition in USF2000. The Miami native who was just shy of being old enough to compete in all 2023 races, turned 14 after the season opener at St. Pete, thus beginning his season at Sebring Raceway.
In 2023, the teenager who stays busy with school and soccer when not racing earned two podiums, three top fives and five top-10's in his rookie season, landing him ninth in the point championship.
Garcia will enter his eighth year of racing with a returning primary and several personal sponsors. When asked his thoughts on the upcoming season, he prioritized an expression of appreciation.
“Thank you to Augie Pabst and the entire Pabst Racing family for this opportunity,” said Garcia. “I’m excited that Advanced Auto Parts will continue providing support as part of their ongoing grassroots racing program.
“And thank you to my long time personal sponsors OMP, Bell Racing, and Starling Design. I could not do it without you. Can’t wait for the 2024 season to continue growing and learning.”
Team owner Augie Pabst expressed his thoughts of optimism when asked about Max’s signing for the upcoming season.
“Max showed tremendous pace right from the start of the 2023 season, netting some excellent qualifying and race results,” said Pabst. “I’m looking forward to seeing him put all his knowledge and experience from 2023 towards consistent results that will put him right in the championship fight for 2024.”
As the holidays quickly approach, the team prepares for off-season testing and will take part in a series test at Sebring Raceway early December. More driver announcements will come soon.
