Oconomowoc, Wisconsin - Today, Pabst Racing announced the signing of 14-year-old Hudson Schwartz for the 2024 USF2000 Championship Presented by Continental Tire. The announcement comes on the heels of an impressive showing at the USF Pro Championships Fall Combine where Schwartz had the fastest lap time of the weekend and topped the charts in four out of six total sessions.
Schwartz, a native of Arlington, Virginia, got his start in karting and will make his debut as a rookie in the series after competing in USF Juniors in 2023. In October, he was crowned the 2023 Lucas Oil School of Racing’s Formula Car Series Champion which earned him a $250,000 prize to go toward his 2024 USF2000 season.
The ninth grader who loves snowboarding, skiing, travel and art expressed his enthusiasm when asked about his thoughts on signing with Pabst Racing for 2024.
“I am super excited to be joining Pabst for the 2024 USF2000 season,” said Schwartz. “I am honored to be joining the team that won both the USF2000 and USF Pro 2000 championships last season!
"With the support of Lucas Oil School of Racing, I am now carrying the momentum to USF2000. Going into this season, we have amazing speed and pace. I know that with all the hard work that Pabst and I will put in, we will be extremely competitive this season!”
Schwartz will pilot the Pabst Racing Tatuus USF-22 #22 machine for 2024 with primary sponsorship from Lucas Oil School of Racing. Other partners on board for 2024 are Axios, Axis HQ and OG Racing.
Augie Pabst who became a first-time driver championship winning team owner in 2023 when Simon Sikes and Myles Rowe won the USF2000 and USF Pro 2000 Championships respectively spoke on his positive outlook regarding the signing of Hudson Schwartz for 2024.
“Hudson’s recent success in the USF Juniors category and his Lucas Oil School of Racing Championship scholarship is paving the way for him to step up to USF2000 in 2024,” said Pabst. “His ability to be a front runner was very obvious in testing and I’m looking forward seeing him on the podium throughout 2024.”
As the holidays quickly approach, the team prepares for off-season testing and will take part in a series test at Sebring Raceway early December. More driver announcements will come soon.
