LOVELAND, Ohio – With only four tracks left of the USF2000 Presented by Cooper Tires schedule this season, competitors are feeling the pressure heading into the next round at Road America this weekend. Descending on the Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin facility, the 4.014-mile, 14-turn facility marks the start of the second half of the season and every point earned will be valuable in the hunt for the 2023 championship.
Evagoras Papasavvas, the 15-year-old Jay Howard Driver Development competitor who currently sits in fourth in the championship standings, has claimed three well-earned podium results out of the eight races so far this season with one fourth place result and seven top-10 finishes to add to his season total. Evagoras is eager more than ever coming off a second-place finish at the Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park oval track just a few weeks ago.
“We’ve been so close so many times,” explains Papasavvas. “I think my time is coming. The team and I have made incredible progress since the start of the season and are feeling very confident with the car heading into the next round at Road America this weekend.”
Evagoras along with his JHDD crew will take to the over four-mile road course of Road America beginning this Thursday for a pair of test sessions and will conclude the weekend Saturday afternoon. With Friday featuring one practice and a pair of qualifying sessions, Saturday will be the home of back-to-back races less than four hours apart.
