Evagoras set for full-season of action in 2023
After a karting injury stalled a full-season effort in 2022, Evagoras Papasavvas has rejoined the Jay Howard Driver Development program for the 2023 season. Gaining experience in the latter half of this past season, the Ohio resident is set for a full-season campaign in USF2000 Presented by Cooper Tires, part of the famed USF Pro Championships ladder program.
“We are thrilled to have Evagoras back as part of the JHDD family as his progression last year will make him a real contender in 2023,” explained multi-time Indianapolis 500 starter Jay Howard. “It was a shame that he had to miss the start of the 2022 season, but as the year went on, he became more comfortable with his surroundings and the speed came. He was impressive in Toronto on a circuit where drivers could not test and then again in Portland.”
Evagoras is the fourth USF2000 driver confirmed by JHDD as he will join the already-confirmed Lochie Hughes, Louka St-Jean and Al Morey in the USF2000 program alongside USF Pro 2000 Presented by Cooper Tires driver Ricardo Escotto.
“A huge thank you to my partnership base and to everyone at the Jay Howard Driver Development program for their help and support,” expressed Papasavvas. “I couldn’t think of another program that I would want to be with for my first full season of car racing and look forward to building on the knowledge and success from this past season.”
Howard continued, “With a partial season under his belt, a full winter test program, experience at several of the series circuits and momentum on his side, I am confident that Evagoras can battle at the front of the USF2000 grid in 2023.”
