INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – After earning the pole position and a third-place podium finish on the first day of the Cooper Tires USF2000 Indy Grand Prix triple-header, Brazilian Kiko Porto (Banco Daycoval / Petromega / DEForce Racing / Speed Group), backed those results up on Day Two.

In the early hours of the morning, the DEForce Racing driver claimed another pole position for Race Two. He would line up on point beside his friend and countryman, Dudu Barrichello, on the front row.

In Race Two, Porto had a test of patience and recovery when, after the start, he fell to sixth place. He kept pace and managed to cross the finish line in fourth place.

For Race Three, Porto lined up sixth on the grid with starting positions determined by a driver’s fastest race lap from Race Two. Porto had to take avoiding action at the start to avoid an incident in front of him and fell to seventh place. Following an excellent recovery, Porto secured another podium with a third-place finish.

“The car was perfect in the qualifying sessions, but we had some problems with the performance during the races,” said Porto. “But thanks be to God the results were very good. I came away with two poles and two podiums. I feel like I finally made my debut in the series. I hope to continue like this and get other good results and, who knows, my first victory.”

Porto hopes to return to racing action next week at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course following final confirmation of the event which was originally canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
