Florida squad returns from summer hiatus with rookie Latorre ready to showcase talents on streets of Toronto

PALMETTO, FLA. – JAY Motorsports and its talented rookie Florian Latorre will be back on track this coming weekend (July 13-14), when Rounds Six and Seven of the Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship Powered by Mazda are contested on the streets of Toronto, Ont. Focused on battling for a place on the post-race podium, the French racer is poised to build on a pair of strong runs last time the Mazda Road to Indy series raced on a street circuit.

After over a month's hiatus, JAY Motorsports and it's skilled rookie Latorre are excited to once again be back on track for the resumption of the USF2000 Championship title chase. The Florida-based team is particularly happy that the twin bill is taking place on a more traditional street circuit. While the concrete-lined 1.755-mile track around the Canadian National Exhibition grounds in downtown Toronto certainly provides plenty of obstacles, both the squad and its 16 year-old racer have already shown they are up to the challenge.

Last time the highly-skilled USF2000 Championship field took to a street circuit back in March in St. Petersburg, Fla., the No. 91 13th Avenue/MASM-Cogny/Accent du Sud Ouest/JAY Motorsports entry impressed many onlookers. Latorre, despite having never seen the track or having the benefit of a teammate to share data with, was part of the lead pack, ultimately ending the twin bill with a fifth place finish in race one and ninth place result in race two.

Given the performance back in Florida, and the fact all the drivers enter the lone series stop in Canada with no previous experience on the streets of Toronto, both JAY Motorsports and Latorre are excited about the opportunity to challenge for top honors in Rounds Six and Seven 'North of the Border'.

JAY Motorsports' Latorre, who is a former French Formula 4 National Auto Sport Academy Championship Rookie of the Year, will first sample the streets of Toronto course on Friday (July 12), when two 30-minute Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship Powered by Mazda practice sessions are conducted. Setting the grid for race one, the lone qualifying outing takes place later in the day at 4:35 pm local time. Round Six is slated to get the green flag at 9:55 am local time on Saturday (July 13), with Round Seven at 11:35 am local time on Sunday (July 14). Live timing and scoring will be available at www.usf2000.com/Multimedia/Live.aspx.
