MIAMI, Fla. – Colombian driver Santiago Lozano will return to M2 Autosport for the 2015 Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship Powered by Mazda.
Lozano, 18-years-old from Bogota, began his career in karting at the age of 13 and quickly worked his way up to claim the 2013 Six Hours of Bogota endurance race and the 2014 Formula Latam Challenge Championship.
He competed in USF2000 in 2014, gaining a tremendous amount of racing experience while claiming his first Tilton Hard Charger Award and his first top-10 result of eighth in the season-opener at St. Petersburg.
M2 Autosport continues developing its Mazda Road to Indy program to help young talented drivers to climb the ladder to the Verizon IndyCar Series.
Lozano’s goal for this year is to claim more experience and to work hard to be one of the top USF2000 drivers aboard the #79 M2 Autosport entry.
“I’m coming for it and I will do all my best to get it,” said Lozano. “It’s not easy but last year I learned so much. I want to thank M2 Autosport for all their work in 2014. We know this year will be better for all.”
M2 Autosport will begin 2015 with pre-season testing in Florida on January 25 at Palm Beach International Raceway and January 28 at Homestead-Miami Speedway, followed by the traditional Cooper Tires Winterfest at NOLA Motorsports Park on February 18-20 and Barber Motorsports Park on February 24-26.
The 2015 Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship Powered by Mazda season will begin March 27-29 on the streets of St. Petersburg.
The team will announce its second driver shortly.
