Texan has eyes set on Indy Grand Prix podium
SPEEDWAY, Ind. – Trey Burke and Joe Dooling Motorsports - Curb/Agajanian are back on track this coming weekend at the holy grail of motorsports facilities. Taking on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS) and the Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship, Burke will look to score the victory at one of the world’s most iconic racetracks.
“The next few events for us, especially the Indy Road Course, should be super good for our chances to obtain solid results,” explained Burke. “These are my favorite tracks on the schedule, so I know we will be strong, and we aim to pick up right where we left off at St. Pete. We’ve always had strong results here, so this weekend should be no exception.”
Taking on the first of two triple headers this season, Indianapolis Motor Speedway will be the home of rounds five, six and seven in the championship chase at an event in which Burke will look to rebound. After a pair of disappointing results at Barber Motorsports Park and a career best result at the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg, Burke is looking to reward his Joe Dooling Autosports crew with another successful finish and catapult his way up the championship points standings.
Burke continued, “The competition in USF2000 is tough in 2022, but I know that my team and I are up for the challenge.”
With a Promoter Test Day on Thursday that will feature two test sessions and the one and only official practice session, Friday will be the home of qualifying and the first wheel-to-wheel action of the weekend. Races two and three will take the green flag on Saturday just prior to the Indy Lights Presented by Cooper Tires and NTT INDYCAR Series events that afternoon.
