SALINAS, Calif. - Ryan Verra, driver of the #25 Alliance Autosport (Capto Scientia/Enemy Sport/Toshi/Cancer Research Society) Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship Powered by Mazda race car, will be holding a special media event on September 7th at 1:00 p.m. to discuss his charity project "Driven to Research". 

Driven to Research will incorporate Verra's race car in the National Class Presented by SCCA Enterprises division during the Mazda Road to Indy. The Cancer Research Society is calling on the general public to purchase (via donation) a decal on Verra's race car which will include the name of a loved one that has battled, or is currently battling, cancer. There will also be an exclusive contest to win a ride in the two-seater Indy car, driven by legendary racer Mario Andretti. The Cancer Research Society (CRS) was founded in 1945 with the goal of funding research on all types of cancer, thereby contributing to the advancement of science aimed at preventing, detecting and treating this disease.

Verra will be meeting with the media on Saturday, September 7, at 1:00 p.m. at the Alliance Autosport trailer to discuss Driven to Research. To set up a one-on-one session with him, please contact Diana Rice at at avastcomm@gmail.com.

"We had planned to continue the project throughout the season to give it a chance to build momentum and to also get the message out about awareness for this horrible disease," said Verra. "We also wanted to give people the opportunity to honor their loves ones. California is known for being generous with charitable foundations so we figured this was one of the best places to promote Driven to Research."
