St. Pete podium winner joins Legacy Autosport for Canadian event

With only one stop outside of the United States for the 2019 Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship, Legacy Autosport will have a new driver in the seat on the Streets of Toronto. A podium winner already this season, Indianapolis driver Zach Holden will be back behind the wheel as he looks to take the Legacy Autosport program to the top north of the border.

"We were forced to make a few changes after Road America and thank Alex Baron for all the hard work and commitment he had to our program to date this season," explained Mike Meyer. "Making some changes for Toronto, we welcome Zach Holden to the team and look forward to working with him. Zach was very impressive on the temporary course in St. Petersburg, and I expect him to be the same in Toronto as well."

With third, fifth and seventh-place finishes to his credit in only four starts in 2019, Holden is a driver who has proven to be fast, and can handle the tight confines of street course racing. With only one 30-minute practice session on the schedule for Toronto, Holden will need to be 100% ready to take on the historic bumpy street circuit.

"I want to thank all the guys at Legacy Autosport for the opportunity to get back behind the wheel of a USF2000 car," expressed Holden. "It feels like it has been years since St. Pete and the Indy GP, and I can guarantee that I am ready!"

Meyer added, "It was a late deal to get Zach in the car but since our shop is close to where he lives in Indy, we were able to get a deal in place, a seat poured and him fitted to the car in a matter of a few days. We took extra time at the shop to make sure he was comfortable and everything felt right for him. With no time to waste in Toronto, the goal is to be on pace, right from the very first session."

With the 2019 Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship now 50% complete, Legacy Autosport has begun to accept drivers for the annual Chris Griffis Test set to take place at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway later this year. With 2020 less than five months away, Legacy Autosport is already looking at a winter testing program for new drivers looking to compete with the elite level program.
