Nico Jamin came to Indianapolis with two main goals in mind and was able to achieve both of them. The first one was to add his name to the list of Indy French winners, and the second goal was to leave Indy with the championship lead.

Nico Jamin vaulted into the lead of the Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship Powered by Mazda following another convincing victory this morning at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Grand Prix Circuit.

Jamin cemented the victory with a last-lap pass of series leader Jake Eidson, who had to be content with second for Pabst Racing. Jamin's teammate, Aaron Telitz, completed the podium after leading for much of the 30-minute race.

The old adage “To finish first, first you have to finish” has been followed to a tee by championship leader Jake Eidson. The youngster from Littleton, Colo., previously a champion in both the Skip Barber Racing Series and the F1600 Championship Series, won the opening two races of the season on the streets of St. Petersburg, Fla., and since then has notched a quartet of third-place finishes to ensure he holds the series points lead prior to the two 30-minute races which will comprise the Mazda USF2000 Grand Prix of Indianapolis.

Along with Simon Pagenaud, Sébastien Bourdais, Timothé Buret and Florian Latorre, Jamin is one of five members of the elite French group of racers competing in North American open-wheel in 2015
